Groundwork training with a yearling?

I just recently bought a yearling colt and was wondering how I should start training him. The first thing I know is to get him gelded which he is very soon, but I was wanting to know how I should start working with him?? what should we do together to get that strong bond and how to teach him ground manners and respect? any advice would be great.
