Would a rope halter be good to ride in?
I would really ride her in either a bit or a mild mechanical hackamore. Having a properly fitting headstall with a rein in each hand is very helpful to stopping a horse if they run. Leadropes were not made to put proper pressure on the horse when the leverage comes from their back. Halters and leadropes were made to give you the advantage from the ground. Either get some training in a bit or get a very mild hackamore. Nothing with 8 inch long shanks, chains, or hard ropes.
