Would kant's groundwork for the metaphysics and Mill's Utilitarianism find a means?

I'm writing a paper about the case of Natalie Dylan and I just want to make sure I fully understand Mill's and Kant's views. Would their ideas of morality be able to find a means in a situation such as Natalie Dylan's or would one outdo the other? If so, why?
