Can't see toolbar in Sims 2 live mode?

I open sims 2 and go t the house I want and when it loads all the way the tool bar is GONE and the game is paused. I want the toolbar back. U and Tab don't work. And I found another answer that said "Make sure to allow tabs for your browser." I don't know how to do that. Please HELP!
