Did Christianity cause the holocaust and the deaths of millions?

By this I mean traditional European anti semitism being attributable to the passages in the Bible calling the Jews the spawn of the Devil or similar and the widely held belief that Jews were collectively responsible for the death of Christ. And of course traditional anti semitism playing a part in the dehumanization of the Jews thus laying the groundwork for bringing about the kind of political climate in which persecution of Jews could be allowed to proceed.
