How to import a video from iPhone 4 to PC?

I have a video I would like to be put on my laptop to edit. I know I can't plug it in because it goes to iTunes. I just want that one video to be put on my computer's pictures. I do not want to download anything! Also, how do people pause things? Like, in between scenes on a video, the click pause or something? Do they just edit it out? My digital camera doesn't have pause! What do they use? Best answer goes to the one who answers both questions the best they can. Thanks!
