Is there a large chance that an airplane will be hijacked?

My family may be going to florida and i didnt know if it was dangerous to fly on a plane. i mean how many planes are hijacked a year and wat to the people on the plane do if there is a hijacker. i guess i want to know will i be safe on a plane????
