My browser has been hijacked!?

For some reason when I type a url into the address bar in firefox nothing happens. And if I do a google search and click on a website, 50% of the time I get redirected. I have AVG2011 installed as well as malwarebytes. Both run clean. Is there another program I should be using? Thanks for the help.
