How do I get rid of a hijack virus from my computer?

I have a virus on my computer that hijacks my computer every time I hit the enter key. It will either scroll all the way to the bottom, or continuously keep switching between open windows. When I attempt to locate it using all of the virus protection and malware software, it causes my computer to shut down. I have even went as far as to restore the computer back to the original factory settings, which erased every program and file I had on the computer, and yet this virus is still there! If anybody can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
